Alright, now that I’ve actually looked at the offensive stats, I don’t feel as badly about the game as a whole. My prediction of the top of the lineup was pretty close. The 1-5 batters hit .400 on the day with some impressive stats. Urban didn’t produce and the bottom of the order (outside of Fellows) remains a pretty glaring hole. Third base especially. Someone needs to step up as an offensive weapon there. Not having a true third baseman on the roster is killing us.

Pitching… yeah, fail. I need to listen to the game to get a better feel of what happpened. I suspect Crank might have been off the mark with some of the pitchers, but that will happen occasionally as a back up catcher. Despite this pratfall, he will need to get a game here and there to rest Berset, including most probably one of today’s games. He hasn’t that poorly at the plate, as he does have a double and an RBI as a pinch hitter.

And the unearned runs! ARGH!!! Until I hear the game, I’m not sure what to expect, but like most unearned runs early, they couldn’t have helped confidence or momentum. ARGH!

I’ll recap the weekend on Monday or Tuesday. Still got a busy weekend.

Well, I’m 1/2 excited, 1/2 saddened after this game. Being the Baseball Ops in Milwaukee and getting this win was great for our guys after a down weekend at ASU. I’m saddened because I was born and raised a Wolverine, and I’ve known head coach Rich Maloney for the past 5 years… thanks for the bulletin board material btw…this article got my boys fired up for today looks like it worked. Thanks for finding my articles interesting to say the least. Hopefully this is just one small road bump, and Michigan can win the Big Ten championship this year.

I listened to it and a lot of it seemed to be a young catcher and young pitchers having some difficulties.

WOW…. don’t know if i’ve seen an uglier game. Looking at stats alone, we should have absolutely clobbered these guys. Our pitching today was a total disaster!! 7 hbp & 3 bb, not sure how many wild pitches. 3 errors… what a joke. Time to sit the non-productive guys and give someone who may try and want it more a chance. I don’t care how much pre-season hype a player gets…not producing…sit down!

Let’s hope this game is where some freshman and others get a chance to show their stuff. Hate to see a spring trip where only a handful of players get to take the field….not complaining, as you have to play to win. Still looking for Mill’s, Brosnahan, Broder, DeCarlo(where’s he been?) to take the mound with Kittle & Aspinwall getting time in the field. Go Blue!

wow, that came out as a mess… html is now fixed.

i may not get the rest of the previews up for the weekend as the minute maid college classic starts up tomorrow. how do i pass up a chance to see 5 top 10 teams in a field of 6 playing each other at the Astro’s home field? Imagine the BCS playing round robin in football. That’s what this tournament basically is.
